Mike King's passing has been a particular sad loss to us. A long term friend meeting at the Miners Arms and regularly reviewing the (excellent) quality of Dave Honey's Bass ale (providing the barrel didn't face West Park). We always met with our special Salutation known to us alone. In fact one person saw it and thought we belonged to a secret lodge and wanted to join it. His well known phrases "life isn't all beer & skittles" and "we're coming down very heavily on this" will always be remembered by us as will Mike's comical dislike of Bank Holidays (having to pay staff for no work).
Happy Days and fond memories.
